remember it all

then the rain pours
and I look back
at everything you say,
wonder if you remember it all

the rain pours
and I look back
at your searching starry eyes
if only this means feeling alive
I want to forget everything you say,
but I want you to remember it all

the rain pours
and I look back
on my actions to see shadows
my words can only echo
as everything I say,
you don’t remember it at all

  3. Thank you, it is a very humble poem. We seldom talk to each other these, although we remain good friends. What inspires you to write?

    1. It is humble and honest! In my opinion that makes the best poetry. You write well:) I am mainly inspired and motivated by my own feelings, and things in the world I would like to be different. Every now and then there’s a persons influence though:)

  4. “I want to forget everything you say, but I want you to remember it all”, to me this phrase summarizes our biggest problem in life, we cherish our memories and we want them to transcend, to outlive us, yet memories cause us pain and attachment.

    1. it’s the biggest paradox, memories are the things we want to desperately hold onto, but contain what we have probably already lost:(

  5. Yes, our own feelings are a rich form of inspiration. I am a molecular biologist by the way. Please drop by anytime. Bye!

  6. “memories are the things we want to desperately hold onto, but contain what we have probably already lost” TRUE, memories contain what we have lost. I need to think about it. I thought they were a sort of treasure, but yeah, they are a part of life long gone. Something that will not return.

  9. You are welcome to drop by!. I like the way you write it, is very lively, and sensual, but not as sex-oriented as mine. It is more understated. I think you are more tropical than I am.

    1. I’m not brazen enough to write too sexually, understated is more natural for me. I look forward to reading more of your poetry!
i’ve never been called tropical before but I kind of like it :)
