Inhabitant

I’ve landed on earth to make sense of what is here, below
Learn all about precipitation and how to find gold,
And search for the shine at the end of the rainbow,
enigmatic but dipped in complexity because my heart seems to beat more, than anyone else’s
and my screams are quieter than anyone else’s but I still scream from the top of my lungs
‘you harbour all the rays from the sun, you are made of water and stardust and you can control mountains and seas’
but they don’t seem to listen, and after each day is done
they wake up to the next and cease to do anything different, blindly succumbed.
I’ve landed on earth to make sense of what is here, below
but somehow the static I always hear tells me I don’t belong,
I have never bled like this before, my eyes have never throbbed like this before
and I start to learn that although I am like you, as we look just the same
I have mysteries and galaxies and constellations inside of me
and to you, I don’t know how to explain
that I am a stargazer and I use the moonlight to breathe
energized by enormities like that of a monsoon,
I have existed in space and there is so much space between us
and perhaps a mix of eternities and perplexities and infinities is not what your planet needs
because my screams are quieter than anyone else’s
and my heart seems to beat more, than anyone else’s could do
and I am only set alight by the heat of the sun, you are made of water but there is fire in me,
that ignites when the stars align and form constellations, whilst sitting on the surface of the moon.
