Drunk & Confused

New poem from Nina :D

Nina Evangeli

Does a drink change a person?
Or exaggerate who they really are.
Did I think of that sober?
Or while standing at the bar.

So sure, so convinced.
Full of hatred for the feeling.
Wanting you, hating you,
My mind is reeling.

Wanting what I can’t have,
too afraid to give up.
What if I had that?
Pass me another cup.

Curiosity is overwhelming,
I desperately want to know.
If I lost it all to see,
My world would up and go.

Desire and regret
Often come as a pair.
The fear of the unknown,
Makes it impossible to dare.
