The Voice

Your prejudice does not erase
That I am human
With the content of my character
I am a woman
With the Love in my heart
I am a mother
With patience and kindness
I am a friend
Bearing the burden of your hate
purifies my soul
Your humiliation
is equal to my humility
and so
sets me free

Elena writes beautiful, moving and hopeful poetry in the midst of the pain in the world. I hope this inspires you as much as it does for me.

  2. I hope more people would read your poetry. We need your words, emotions and feelings to permeate our world where there is so much fear and hatred. Thank you for being a light in the midst of darkness.
